Seven centuries behind the moat

A thirteenth-century fortress of the plain, at Bouville, in the Gâtinais. The history, the spaces and their capacities, wellness, the park, where guests sleep, how to come. Nothing here is let on its own: weddings, seminars and private events have their pages.

Seven centuries

From Hugues II de Bouville to the Bouniol family, in eight dates.

1291Hugues II de Bouville, chamberlain to Philip the Fair, raises the fortress.
1304The chapel, with its medieval frescoes, is consecrated.
1407Farcheville passes to the house of Coligny, for two centuries.
1900The wall-walk is entirely rebuilt, in two years.
1987Jean Chalopin begins the restoration, with the architect Pierre-André Lablaude.
2006The restoration is complete.
2009The Bouniol family takes over the estate.
2018The Orangerie, glass and steel, completed in 2019.

Capacities

Seated for dinner, or in a meeting, space by space. The estate's maximum is the Orangerie's: four hundred and fifty seated. A professional kitchen on site, fibre since 2021.

Wellness

A heated indoor pool of twenty-five metres, a hammam, five treatment rooms, a small gym and a winter garden. Outside, a heated pool, renovated in 2021 and 2022.

The park

Two hundred hectares of park and forest. Formal gardens, an eighteenth-century flower garden, a rose pergola, a lime allée, a pond. A tennis court, a pétanque ground, a helipad.

Where guests sleep

Inside the walls first, then a few minutes away. The two houses nearby lodge the rest of a wedding party or a seminar. Only the gîte is also let on its own.

Getting here

By road, the A6 then the N20: one hour from Paris, fifty minutes from Orly. By train, the RER C to Étampes, then fifteen minutes by taxi. By helicopter, the estate's helipad, coordinates on request. Parking on the estate.
